| Chasuble |
Linen, silk embroidery
Inv. no. T 6904/1908
The chasuble, like the cope, originally consisted of a semicircle, which was closed in front and embroidered. Today's much smaller form does not date back further than the sixteenth century. Back: Christ enthroned with the emblems of the four Evangelists, and below the nine angels in three rows of stilted-arch arcades. Front: Crucifixion, and beneath it eight Apostles in two rows of stilted-arch arcades, corresponding to the angels on the back.
