Program for Kids & Families

The MAK is the home of creativity! For over 150 years, children both young and old have come to us for ideas: everywhere there are things just waiting to be discovered. Knowledge, history, and visions are taught in a clear, playful, and constantly changing way.

Workshops provide the opportunity for you to get involved and bring your ideas to life. New exhibitions and interesting exhibits should be and want to be discovered in a fun, entertaining, exciting, intellectually stimulating, and creative way. The artistic potential of young visitors to the museum will be encouraged in workshops with creatives from the MAK Educational Team.

MUSICAL CHAIRS
Workshop for children from ages 6 to 13

Michael Thonet continually developed the bentwood technique and founded the largest furniture empire of the 19th century. The exhibitions BENTWOOD AND BEYOND and “SITZEN 69” REVISITED offer deep insight into the seating of the past and present. Together, we let ourselves be inspired by the classics and find all sort of things to sit on for tomorrow. We build a tower of chairs using your ideas and let it crash in the 21st century.
