Tour of the MAK Design Lab

Since 2019, the MAK Design Lab makes the contribution design can have towards positive change tangible. Contemporary projects by designers, artists, architects, programmers, activists, and idealists, who are reacting to the challenges of the 21st century and are pointing out problems, contemplating alternatives, and providing solutions, are put into the context of multifaceted connections to historical positions from the MAK Collection. More than 500 objects but also tools, scientific research, and technologies present alternative paths to our current lifestyles and show approaches towards an eco-friendly, sustainable change of our production methods, ways of living, habits, and systems.
