Verena Dengler works continuously with applied, disrespectful appropriations of art, and false translations of surfaces, especially of textile design. In the framework of her project on the Study Collection, she also attempts to illuminate the phenomenon of collecting, with a view to her own personal fashion and textile collection, and relation to the object, whether in the form of identification with something worn or a loose interest in something not worn, but rather owned.

Exhibition series New Look
Four young artists living and working in Vienna will engage in a practical confrontation with the MAK Study Collection. The exhibition series NEW LOOK reflects on MAK as a site of contemporary artistic production and offers the occasion to reflect on the applied arts and their mediation from different and new perspectives. Benjamin Hirte opened the series with his installation the classic mob ballet, staging specific conditions and forms of presentation of the MAK Collection as well as ideas of the applied with parody.
