Guided Tours and Educational Activities

The MAK offers a diverse program of guided tours and educational activities for adults, small children, and young adults. Collection curators, exhibition curators, and art educators lead visitors through the Permanent Collection, temporary exhibitions, and the various branches of the MAK.

Tours of the MAK

Tours of the MAK covering the highlights of the Permanent Collection take place every Saturday at 11 a.m. (German) and every Sunday at 12 noon (English).

Temporary exhibitions

The educational program for temporary exhibitions includes a non-stop information service and short guided tours on Saturday afternoons, as well as guided tours in the afternoon on Saturdays and Sundays afternoons. MAK Design Kids

Workshops for everyone aged 8 and over (withouth  accompanying adult):
every 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month, 2–4 p.m.
Participation fee: € 7.50


Workshop for the whole family (ages 4 and older):
every 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month, 2–4 p.m.
Attendance fee: € 2 per child, admission for accompanying adults: € 7,50


Guided tour for the whole family (ages 4 and older):
every 3rd Sunday in the month, 11.00 a.m.
Admission for accompanying adults: € 7,50


Every 3rd Wednesday of the month at 3 p.m.
Tours of current exhibitions or focused on specific themes of the collection are finished off followed by additional discusson in the Salonplafond restaurant at the MAK. Total price € 15

Themed Tours at the MAK Branches

From May to November, walks and themed tours through the MAK Branch Geymüllerschlössel branch take place every Sunday.

Due to repair work the MAK Tower (formerly the MAK Contemporary Art Depot at the Arenbergpark) ist closed until further notice. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Special and Group Tours

The MAK also offers custom-tailored special and group tours, which can be scheduled to suit your needs!
Both the content and length of such tours can be adapted to your preferences, and special tours can be held in German or in English (further languages available on request).

 No prior registration is required to take part in the regularly held tours at the MAK and its branches.

Attendance fee for all guided tours:  € 2 per person, except children up to 6
