Thomas and the Digital Apples

Sat, 03.03.2018, 2.00 pm–4.00 pm

MAK Austrian Museum for Applied Arts / Contemporary Art

Workshop for 8- to 12-year-olds (unaccompanied)
in context of the exhibition THOMAS BAYRLE: If It’s Too Long—Make It Longer
The artist Thomas Bayrle uses an endless number of miniature pictures to build his impressive collages, which he calls “superforms.” In the workshop we will explore these images, which are made up of smartphones, highways, and apples. Then every child will make their very own superform: equipped with iPads, we will search the MAK for objects, take photos of them, and then use a special app to design a unique and personal ornament with them. The result: a work of art and a sheet of wrapping paper that you can take home with you!
