The Khevenhüller Chronicle was commissioned by Count Franz Christoph von Khevenhüller and written around 1620 by Georgius Moshamer. In 1937, it became part of the MAK’s inventory. After a keynote by Kathrin Pokorny-Nagel, Head of the Library and Works on Paper Collection, Beate Murr, Conservation, and Tabea Harney, Academy of Fine Arts, will present the concept for research on and conservation and digitalization of the Chronicle in cooperation with the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. Due to complex damage and in order to correctly interpret phases of revisions, a close cooperation between experts for specific problems and for natural scientific analyses is essential. Only a concept designed in a holistic and interdisciplinary way will do the cultural-historical value of the Khevenhüller Chronicle justice.
