In the context of this year’s WORLD ART NOUVEAU DAY, the MAK is offering the opportunity of enjoying an extensive Art Nouveau program free of admission. This includes special tours of the exhibitions SHOWROOM WIENER WERKSTÄTTE: A Dialogue with Michael Anastassiades and JOSEF HOFFMANN: Progress Through Beauty as well as the MAK4Family workshop Viennese Lines—Typography in the Style of Art Nouveau, an experience for the entire family. Actress Sona MacDonald will accompany you through the MAK Permanent Collection Vienna 1900 with a reading and an evening architecture walk will guide you to important Viennese Art Nouveau buildings. 
 
The WORLD ART NOUVEAU DAY was founded in 2013 on the occasion of the anniversary of Antoni Gaudi’s and Ödön Lechner’s deaths. Throughout Europe, museums and organizations contribute to this international event with exhibitions, photo competitions, presentations, and readings.

Actress Sona MacDonald reads texts—by Adolf Loos, Josef Hoffmann, and Karl Kraus, among others—and accompanies you through the MAK exhibition on Vienna at the time around 1900.
