In the context of the newly named CREATIVE CLIMATE CARE GALLERY, exhibitions take place at the MAK that address climate, environment, and sustainability and thereby highlight the essential contribution of design, architecture, and art to a positive change of our society.
On the occasion of the research focus CLIMATE CARE, the MAK published essays by General Director Christoph Thun-Hohenstein on the climate crisis and extensive climate care in 2020 and 2021. Both topics also play a pivotal role for the VIENNA BIENNALE FOR CHANGE 2021. The MAK, as a museum of active hope, is strongly committed to shaping our new era of Climate Modernity and proposes a new mindset for climate care and “planet love,” the deep appreciation of our common habitat and all species.
Artists and creatives are encouraged to consider all possible ways and means to participate in overcoming the climate crisis and the general ecological crisis and to contribute passionately to the shaping of Climate Modernity.
