With Anton Exner’s donation in 1946, the MAK received a wooden Buddha head which had been seized from Dr. Richard W. Weiss in the Nazi era and later had been purchased by Anton Exner in the art market. Richard Weiss applied for restitution in 1953 which finally took place in May 1956.
