Research Project

Gustav Peichl Archive

Project management: Kathrin Pokorny-Nagel, Head, MAK Library and Works on Paper Collection/Archive
In 2014 the Library and Works on Paper Collection received approximately 8 000 design drawings and plans by the distinguished Austrian architect Gustav Peichl. Among them are initial concept sketches for the regional studio of the ORF as well as the associated plans for submission. Public-sector construction contracts for e.g. rehabilitation centers, schools, and urban planning stand in stark contrast to numerous unrealized projects. Social housing and representative detached houses complete this overview of Peichl’s architectural Gesamtkunstwerk or total work of art.
