Everywhere, all around us—in the kitchen, in the garden, on the way to work, on a walk through the woods, near a building site—you can gather plants and other materials suitable for making ink.

MAK – Museum of Applied Arts

After a short tour in the MAK Design Lab, in this workshop participants explore a range of methods for making ink and juice dyes from plant materials. We use wood, nuts, berries, special dye plants, food waste, household materials, and natural bonding agents.
Together we discover the color spectrum of extracted plant dyes and test how they may be used to create art, utilizing a range of painting and drawing utensils applied to different types of paper.
