MAK-it! Organic Material Workshop with Fashion Designer Cindy Fodor

Cindy Fodor works in an interdisciplinary way at the intersection of fashion design, science, and technology. In her studio-lab, she develops experimental algae-based materials and fabrics, which are transformed into innovative silhouettes and surfaces using laser cutting and 3D printing.

The MAK Workshop will offer insights into this experimental research process: Participants will produce several algae fabrics themselves and design these in their liquid state with color and various embedded materials—from textile fragments to powdered food waste. In this way, individual surfaces that express a contemporary exploration of material, fashion, and science will be created.

The MAK-it! Format
The MAK-it! workshop series for adults offers the opportunity to explore a variety of craft skills and innovative techniques together with designers and creatives. In the unique atmosphere of the former MAK administration building, participants can create their own works of art.
