MAK-it! Visible Mending

In this MAK-it! on visible mending as part of the exhibition CRITICAL CONSUMPTION, you will practise mending techniques with the artist Celia Pym and gain special insights into the designer’s textile repair methods.

You will learn skills in “knit” darning yourself. Please bring along your damaged knitted items for which you would like to discuss repair options with the designer and work on together. In this workshop, your piece will not simply be repaired, but artistically enhanced. Stuffing material is included in the price and will be provided for you. No previous knowledge of needlework techniques is required. Celia Pym speaks English. However, she will be supported by at least one bilingual MAK colleague. Knowledge of English is not necessary, but an advantage.

The workshop series MAK-it! for adults offers the opportunity to try out a variety of craft skills and innovative techniques together with designers and creators. In the unique atmosphere of the MAK Columned Main Hall, you can create your own works of art.
