Bringing Animals: Assistance dogs are welcome in the MAK Geymüllerschlössel and its garden. Unfortunately, pets other than assistance dogs are not permitted.

ZEIT FÜR KOST 2026

In the summer of 2026, ZEIT FÜR KOST [A SEASON TO SAVOR] will once more be staged in the Geymüllerschlössel—in a new, expanded form.
 
Continuing the series developed in cooperation with POPCHOP in 2024, this year’s presentation consists of five events on one day per month over five months, in a format that places design, cuisine, and art in a context appealing to all of our senses.
 
Each of the five events focuses on a specially curated well-dressed table. The curators have created unique settings for their tables using ceramics, glass, textiles, flower arrangements, and objects from a wide range of sources. Historical allusions stand shoulder-to-shoulder with contemporary design, each table forming an atmospheric ensemble that combines collage, still-life, and tableau vivant.
 
The culinary offerings at each event complement the table designs: for each day a food pop-up has been invited to collaborate on a special menu that echoes, develops, and translates into culinary terms the materials, colors, textures, and moods of that day’s table. The series is accompanied by a program of music, readings, and performances that harmonize with each day’s event without taking center stage.
 
ZEIT FÜR KOST [A SEASON TO SAVOR], hosted by Popchop, conceives the well-dressed table as a stage for contemporary food culture, artistic encounters, and relaxing in the unique atmosphere of the Geymüllerschlössel, Pötzleinsdorf’s historic architectural jewel. Between June and October the Schlössel thus presents a series of events each with its own distinctive character but united by a common dramatic structure composed of setting, food culture, and applied art.
 
The Geymüllerschlössel, originally built as a summer residence, today affords an authentic insight into the diversity of Biedermeier domestic culture and interior design. In the garden visitors can admire contemporary art, such as Hubert Schmalix’s sculpture Der Vater weist dem Kind den Weg [The Father Shows the Way to his Child] (1996), and American light artist James Turrell’s atmospheric Skyspace The Other Horizon (1998/2004).
