Josef Hoffmann’s long life spanned more than eight decades of which he spent at least six active as an artist. He lived and worked in five political systems and influenced hundreds of designers to the present day while always remaining true to his high creative standards. Progress through Beauty provides insights into the multifaceted life of the architect and "all-round designer".

150 YEARS OF THE STUBENRING BUILDING

The MAK is celebrating the 150th anniversary of the completion of the magnificent building on the Ringstraße on 4 November 2021. On this occasion, we are dedicating this MAK.digiSTORY to the founders and builders, as well as to the architecture of the museum.

WOMEN ARTISTS OF THE WIENER WERKSTÄTTE

The MAK.digiSTORY for the exhibition WOMEN ARTISTS OF THE WIENER WERKSTÄTTE offers lovingly prepared background information on the women artists and the history of the Wiener Werkstätte as well as fascinating visual material. Biographies of individual women artists and the history of Vienna around 1900 are interwoven in images and text.
