Koloman Moser’s interior designs emerge as part of the Gesamtkunstwerk—or total work of art—concept championed by the Secession. Though
trained as a painter, it is for this reason that he turns his back on the surface of the canvas from 1898 in order to conquer
the third dimension. This results in exciting and multipurpose solutions—not only for interiors, but also for the entire
field of arts and crafts.
