In "KM_100," the two designers Alfred Burzler and Thomas Exner concern themselves with a question of principle whether to have a design produced by craftsmen or industrial methods. For these purposes a "design icon" of the 20th century - the "Purkersdorf armchair" designed by Koloman Moser in 1903 and produced by Korbwarenfabrik Prag-Rudniker - is staged as a contemporary mass-produced item of furniture. In doing so they reverse the main tenets of the Wiener Werkstätte and thematize the conditions of design production then and now. The presentation may be understood as a contemporary aspect of the MAK exhibition "Yearning for Beauty."
