Architecture for Better Living

registration no longer possible
On the occasion of the 200th anniversary of Wienerberger AG, a symposium will take place at the MAK – Museum of Applied Arts, Vienna in cooperation with Wienerberger in the context of preparations for the architecture exhibition during the VIENNA BIENNALE FOR CHANGE 2019: BRAVE NEW VIRTUES. Shaping Our Digital World.

Architecture provides structure and form, creates spaces, and directly influences various areas of human existence as a designed environment. It impacts on emotions, perceptions, as well as behavior, and enables collective and individual experiences. If, however, as is the case nowadays, virtues are undergoing fundamental changes, this in turn will have an influence on notions of quality of life and the challenges architecture will be confronted with in the future.

The symposium will discuss the added value architecture can already create for better living today. At the same time, it dares to look ahead in order to formulate hypotheses on possible scenarios and design tasks to shape the future.
