MAK-it! Paradise Rug Tufting Workshop

with textile artist Bettina Willnauer

For centuries carpets have depicted paradisical gardens and functioned as mobile oases that can be taken to the most diverse locations and simply rolled out there. For artist Bettina Willnauer, flora and fauna are also a major source of inspiration—and so we bring a piece of brightly colored paradise into the grey month of December and create our own transportable oasis in the form of a wall carpet. We will try out various methods of hand tufting and craft a carpet together—from sketch to tufting. While taking a break from tufting, you can try your hand with the punch needle and create yet another piece of paradise.
