MAK Guide

Experience the MAK by listening! Explore the MAK with the new digital MAK Guide! Audio pieces and high-resolution images offer you an entirely new access to one hundred fascinating MAK objects and their stories.

Let yourself be guided through a fascinating collection of applied art. The digital MAK Guide tells the stories of one hundred selected objects and provides information on their backgrounds, historical and sociopolitical contexts, on issues of typology, materials and collecting passions, artistic interventions and concepts.

Audio tours will inspire you across the MAK’s permanent presentations. If you want to set your own priorities, you can also discover the objects independently with the digital MAK Guide. Special themed tours, such as on the architecture of Ferstel’s building, complement the regular tours through the exhibitions and offer exceptional perspectives on the MAK.
The texts, written by MAK curators and art educators, are read by actors Eva Mayer and Till Firit in German and by Sona Macdonald and Vincent Lyssewski in English.

High-resolution images of the collections’ objects round out the audio dimension with fascinating visual approaches that allow you to dive deep into the MAK collections even from at home.

The APP was designed and programmed by Design Studio LWZ with Huangart, who have already developed the multiple award-winning MAK LAB APP as digital partners with the MAK.
