Research Project

The Commercial Graphic Design of the Wiener Werkstätte

Project Manager: Anne-Katrin Rossberg, Curator, MAK Metal Collection and Wiener Werkstätte Archive
After the 2017 publication of EPHEMERA on the commercial graphic design of the MAK Library and Works on Paper Collection, in 2021 a supplemental publication devoted exclusively to the commercial graphic design of the Wiener Werkstätte is being prepared. Consisting of corporate graphic art, catalogs, advertising brochures, wrapping paper, etc., the collection allows one to trace the development of the WW’s corporate identity through three decades. The research project will entail the refurbishment of largely unknown designs, printing blocks, and proofs.
