Born in Vienna in 1931, Padhi Frieberger is nonetheless an outsider of the citys art scene. He has created an oeuvre that in its constant variety brings together the most diverse streams of the avant-garde. His austere artistic concepts and refusal to build any kind of social connections has made it impossible for him to establish any kind of commercial base. So Frieberger's work is still shamefully dealt with below its real worth, even though he is represented in many collections, both private and public.
Through ARTIST IN FOCUS #3, Padhi Frieberger, who has made so vital a contribution to Austrian art, is now, fittingly and increasingly, in the public eye.
