Digital media require an interface and a backend, a user surface and technology. For several years, the media designers from Nofrontiere have been experimenting with interactive models employing digital media as links. Siemens produces the technological components making such systems work. The collaboration between Nofrontiere and Siemens is aimed at questioning the role of the designer and the creative or creation process based on digital media, which will only fulfill its purpose if the (co)operating systems also include the user.

This collaboration is the first joint venture between designers and industry initiated by the MAK Design Info Pool in its series, "Design Showcases 2002."
