Playing at building things in the MAK
Part of the major interactive exhibition ARCHITECTURAL CONSTRUCTION KITS—staged by Deutsches Architekturmuseum (DAM)—involved replicating the originals of historically valuable building blocks in a range of materials, so that at several locations in the MAK children can play at building things with them. In addition, in the DIREKTION FÜR ALLE! visitors will find the Free Universal Construction Kit. This amusing building block adapter facilitates the creation of entirely new combinations between a variety of contemporary international toy construction kits.

MAKtour: Stages of Everyday Life
With simultaneous translation into Austrian Sign Language (ÖGS)
This guided tour focuses on representations of everyday life from the Baroque to Viennese Modernism to the present. In the reinstallation of Vienna 1900—Everyday. A Total Work of Art, Markus Schinwald has relocated historical objects in spectacular ensembles, creating experimental visual worlds from scenes of bygone everyday life. Afterwards we will visit the exhibition THOMAS DEMAND: Rooms That Dream of the Past and examine his scrupulously fashioned miniature worlds.

MAKtour Vienna 1900—The Women Designers of the WW
In this tour of Vienna 1900, we take a look at the women who created designs for the Wiener Werkstätte and at their important role in Viennese Modernism. We focus on women artists and designers whose textile, jewelry, fashion, and interior designs significantly helped to shape the aesthetics of the Wiener Werkstätte—highlighting in particular the pioneering ceramic artist Vally Wieselthiers and visiting the current MAK special exhibition Ceramic Sculptor.

MINI MAK ArchitecTour—There’s More to Play with than LEGO!
Of course, you’ve all heard of LEGO! But in this exhibition you’ll learn about a lot more building sets that existed long before LEGO. A whole range of creative interlocking systems, building bricks with detailed designs, and cleverly constructed models tell tales of architecture and children’s toys that existed before your time. But the best thing is, you won’t just hear tales of architecture—you’ll get to practice building it yourself! Guided tour for the whole family (from age 4)

MAKtour Reinstallation of Textiles and Carpets
The reinstallation presents a cross-section of the textiles collection and reveals cultural links between the objects, frequently bearing witness to international trade and exchange—for instance along the so-called Silk Road.
