Open Kino by yMAK: STOFF – Ein Spitzengeschäft [Lace Relations]
Film screening and discussion
After a period of intensive research on and engagement with the topic of Fashion & Identity, yMAK extends an invitation to an Open Kino screening of STOFF – Ein Spitzengeschäft [Lace Relations]. The film traces the interwoven textile threads that have bound together the histories of Nigeria and Austria for hundreds of years. As colourful and multilayered as the materials themselves, the two-part film portrays extravagant fashion icons as well as savvy lace merchants, conjuring up the spirits lurking in the hidden seams of colonial history.
