Buchegger, Denoth, Feichtner are an office for 2-D and 3-D design. The office was established in Linz in 2001 and in Vienna in 2003. The office employs about 20 regulars centering on three areas: visual communication, product design, and new media. “Axioms” is the name for a group of works designed in recent months which are related to each other through a common formal language in spite of the different product sectors they belong to: industrial design, kitchen- and tableware, furniture, lamps.

Chair AXIOME The chair shows itself apart from the familiar round and organic forms inviting anyone standing to take a rest. Axiome squares up with the axiom of form follows function. It is not the function that makes its form speak on the face of it, but form itself is its language. A geometric language of form in powder-coated aluminium sheet revealing its comfort not before the chair is used. “The function of a chair has been clear all along, but all the more I’m interested in its form”, says Thomas Feichtner. The producer of this extraordinary object is the design workshop Schatzl, the manufactury for contemporary design.
