MAK Works on Paper Room

The MAK interior design—mostly Florentine Renaissance in style—was carried out by students and professors at the Vienna School of Arts and Crafts. This exhibition follows the history of construction from design to completion, with an audiovisual guide for greater clarity. So it becomes clear how the various components all fitted together into the Gesamtkunstwerk: Heinrich von Ferstel’s architectural concept, Ferdinand Laufberger’s fresco and stencil paintings, the building sculptures and interior design. The timeline spans to the present day, including the artistic interventions by contemporary artist from 1989 to 1993.
