MAKtour The MAK’s Architecture (in German)The tour elucidates the MAK’s architectural features. Together we explore the building’s Renaissance Revival style and its façade, the grotesques of the ceiling murals in the interior, and the architectural interventions and exhibition architecture of the individual permanent collections.
Language: The tour is held in German.

At the MAK Branch Geymüllerschlössel, a jewel of Biedermeier architecture in Vienna’s Pötzleinsdorf neighborhood, the MAK shows furniture from the Empire and Biedermeier periods, Old-Viennese clocks from the collection of Franz Sobek, and interventions by contemporary artists and designers.
In the exhibition
SIDEKICKS: Rings and Bags from the MAK Collection at the Geymüllerschlössel, valuable accessories and jewelry play a leading role. Embedded in an artistic presentation by guest curator Ulrike Johannsen, the objects are displayed in the splendid Biedermeier ambience of the Schlössel amidst the presentation of the permanent collection. 111 highlights from the museum’s possessions are presented ranging from medieval finger rings to design classics by the Wiener Werkstätte to contemporary luxury handbags.
Also in the garden of the Geymüllerschlössel, historical and contemporary objects enter into a dialogue. On show are Hubert Schmalix’ sculpture
