Starting at the MAK, we walk along the river to the Halterbach in the 14th district, tracing the currents of time. The rocks of Vienna’s geological foundations were laid down when the city was still a sea. Traces of this primordial ocean are still traceable everywhere, both in how the city of Vienna and its waters have grown over time and in our own bodies and their reciprocal relationship with the environment. In a multi-perspective, sensory tour, we plunge into tales, admire the structure of embankments and, in commemoration of Otto Wagner’s birthday, dedicate our stroll to the River Vienna’s architectural wonders. Towards the end of our outing, the city dives into lush greenery, and towards Hawei (Hadersdorf Weidlingau) urbanity gives way to a kind of big city jungle, in whose clean, shallow waters you can cool your feet—or more of you if you like.
Please be sure to bring hybridwear or swimwear with you! In addition we recommend you wear sensible shoes, and please note that this tour is not barrier-free.
