Developed in collaboration with the Jan van Eyck Academy in the Netherlands, the British Goldsmiths College, and IKEA, SoftSoftSoft is a visual research project about the relationship of humans to the realm of objects. The project operates at the interface of sculpture, design, philosophy, film and communication and is currently travelling, with varying modules, through international institutions. The exhibition at MAK presents three modules of SoftSoftSoft: a digital film entitled SoftSoftSoft - screened in the TV lounge in the glass connecting wing -, a paper installation entitled Cuts, Folds and Abstractions of softness, and ColumboSoftColumbo, a search game for museum visitors. The outcomes generate artistic propositions that look at different states of consciousness in our stylistic perceptions of reality.
