MAK Summer Studios 2026

In 2026, it’s once again time to explore, experiment, and create!
Together with designer Basse Stittgen, we set out on an inspiring journey through the world of design and bold approaches to everyday life.

Exploring the area around the MAK, we’ll gather materials and transform our findings in an experimental “super lab.” We’ll create bioplastics from urban resources, press real Viennese natural treasures into unique pieces of jewelry, and make our own paper. Along the way, we’ll discover how everyday materials can be turned into bio-based art and design.

Inspired by the current exhibitions, this edition focuses on the stages of everyday life. How are spectacular scenes created? How can artistic interventions reshape our reality? Together, we’ll develop bold ideas to transform spaces.

There’s also plenty of time to relax in the cool MAK Lounge—of course with great music. The highlight is a large-scale final exhibition in the MAK Columned Hall, where we’ll present our work. Join us as the MAK Summer Workshop 2026 brings together design, experimentation, and staging in one immersive creative experience.

We’re really looking forward to seeing you!
