MAK Summer Studios with the designer Basse Stittgen 2023

This year, the MAK is offering summer studios for children as of 8 years old for the first time.

Together with the designer Basse Stittgen from Amsterdam, we will embark on a journey through the world of design and sustainable everyday design. We will go on a journey of discovery in the surroundings of the MAK and produce organic plastic from urban materials in a kind of “super laboratory.” We will search for real Vienna natural treasures and then press them into jewelry and use them to create paper. We will gather colors and look for traces, including in Pötzleinsdorf in the Geymüllerschlössel, a Biedermeier-era gem, where everything revolves around fashion and sustainable styles. We will try our hand at ‘many(folds) species,’ experiment with material upgrading, and learn the art of bookbinding. We will brunch in the Columned Main Hall, picnic in the MAK Garden, bake our own pizza, and chill in the cool MAK Lounge (with good music of course!)

We are already very much looking forward to welcoming you!
