Vienna 1900 / Focus: Being Raised as a Good Consumer (in German)

Viennese Modernism in architecture and design is determined by two well-known opponents. The architects Josef Hoffmann and Adolf Loos were particularly at odds regarding a certain issue: Around 1900, were you only modern if you purchased from the Wiener Werkstätte or was your personal attitude regarding the world and its design sufficient? We guide you through the MAK Collection Vienna 1900 and draw attention to the consumers and patrons who brought modernity into their lives, bought it, and used it.
