MAK-it! Circle of Clay

with the artist and cultural anthropologist Anna Riess

In the context of the exhibition HARD/SOFT: Textiles and Ceramics in Contemporary Art, it will once again be possible to work collectively with clay. The artist Anna Riess runs the “Circle of Clay,” a setting in which you can calmly feel out a shape, listen to your own intuition, trust your hands, and develop your own individual stylistic idiom. To help you realize your ideas, the artist will unpretentiously share her feministic ways of working and applied techniques so that you can independently create sculptural works in her favorite clay while also enabling you to design your own color scheme. The works of the artist and cultural anthropologist Anna Riess are often subjected to a “nippling of everyday life.” Whether you produce little “Tittitassen” (“nip cups”) or something else, is up to you. The final ceramic objects can be collected from the artist’s studio.
